Studio Visit with Jinseok Choi

Back in February, we had a chance to speak with LA based artist Jinseok Choi in his Los Angeles studio. We talked about how he ended up in LA, materials and ideas he is currently exploring, and new projects he’s been working on. Read on to find out more!

Jinseok Choi is an interdisciplinary artist who activates our time and political surroundings by researching historical and cultural context and weaving seemingly unrelated issues via writing, installation, sculpture, performance, and video. He has participated in multiple residency programs such as The Studios at Mass MoCA, Vermont Studio Center, and Otis Summer Residency. In 2020, Choi has been nominated for the Emerging Artist Grant, an invitation only award by the Rema Hort Mann Foundation. He received his MFA from California Institute of the Arts and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
